Caramel Bars

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees

1¼ oz package caramels
¾ cup whipping cream
¼ cup whipping cream
2 cups flour
1 cup  butter
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups quick oatmeal
1½ cups brown sugar
½ cup chopped walnuts

Melt caramels and ¾ cup whipping cream slowly.
Separately cut together the rest of the ingredients (except the remaining whipping cream) as you would do for a pie crust.
Add ¼ cup whipping cream and mix with a fork.
Set 1 cup of this mixture aside.  Pack the rest in a greased 9X13 inch pan.
Bake for 10 minutes.

Sprinkle caramel mix over the crust.
Add nuts to saved mixture and sprinkle over caramel.
Bake an additional 15 minutes.
Cool several hours before cutting.
