Kiddush Lunch

Those celebrating a simcha on Shabbat morning (Saturday), in fulfillment of the traditional obligation of seudat mitzvah (a festive meal related to a life cycle celebration), are expected to sponsor the weekly kiddush for the entire congregation as well as your friends and family. Regularly, 225 people attend Shabbat morning services and that is the base line for a Kiddush.  Beth Jacob imposes no limitation on what may be spent for a kiddush. However, in order to maintain the feeling of communal inclusiveness that we so cherish, Beth Jacob encourages families to host meals that are appropriate to their own means.
